Original Artist Newspaper DARLA
About the work
This project is not a replica of a regular published daily. Dr. Darla Nageswara Rao created an original newspaper titled DARLA—Different Art of Replica in Letter Art—whose content concerns his own art, drawing on prior coverage from The Hindu.
The sheet was crafted to look like a real broadsheet (registration marks, advertisement placement, date 17 September 2011, six columns, approximately 41 × 56.5 cm). That self-authored newspaper was then itself reproduced through Replica Art.
The work names and frames the art form as a newspaper identity, then proves the craft by replicating it.
